Contact Frames

How to Fit
Contact Frames.

Contact frames and sealing frames support cleaner CPU fitting and controlled mounting pressure. They are not a replacement for thermal paste, thermal sheets or PTM — fit the frame first, then apply your chosen thermal interface material.

Frame fitting Controlled pressure, not extra force.

The objective is careful alignment and even fitment. Stop immediately if anything feels misaligned or requires excessive force.

  • Check socket compatibility
  • Tighten gradually and evenly
  • Keep screws organised

Use this before applying your chosen thermal material.

01

Check compatibility

Confirm the frame is designed for your CPU socket and motherboard platform before you begin.

02

Prepare the area

Work on a clean, static-safe surface. Keep screws organised and avoid unnecessary pressure around the socket.

03

Fit evenly

Align the frame carefully and tighten gradually. The goal is controlled, even fitment rather than excess force.

04

Apply thermal material

Once the frame is fitted, apply paste, liquid metal, KryoSheet or PhaseSheet using its dedicated guide.

Do
  • Confirm socket compatibility first
  • Tighten gradually and evenly
  • Apply thermal material after fitting
Don’t
  • Force anything around the socket
  • Assume frames fit every platform
  • Apply thermal material before fitting the frame
